WEST CHESTER, Pa., July 29, 2010 —MEI EASITRAX® vending management software system was selected to manage the New York City Department of Education’s vast network of 3,000+ drink vending machines in public schools. These machines are exclusively managed by CC Vending, Inc. of Bronx, N.Y., the vending operator charged with the software purchase decision.
CC Vending made the decision to purchase MEI EASITRAX because the installation required a sophisticated, proven vending management system that could support the complex needs of 850 unique facilities.
The MEI EASITRAX vending management system will be used to manage the CC Vending current inventory warehouse management needs as well as its future needs for advanced forecasting and dynamic routing functionality.
“Our goal was to fulfill all of the DOE’s reporting needs while building a fully DEX-compliant database that could be used for future services,” said Tim Fitzgerald of CC Vending. “We could easily ‘uplift’ the database to a hosted environment to provide a more convenient pay-as-you-use solution. The EASITRAX software had the features and technical flexibility to support this contract as new technology evolves.”
MEI’s EASITRAX vending management software is a complete, end-to-end solution for controlling and monitoring all aspects of the vending operation…from cash and product to machines and drivers.
EASITRAX – currently being used to manage over 4,000 machines from 1,000 different CC Vending accounts in addition to the NYC DOE – allows for increased efficiency and accountability at the driver level and improved profitability overall.
New York City education officials selected CC Vending in part because it offered the best operating and monitoring systems, according to a recent article in The New York Times (www.nytimes.com).
“This program represents the next stage in the evolution of the vending business,” said CC Vending President Michael Cascione. “We’ve been moving toward a more healthful vending standard for years, but it took a committed client such as NYC DOE to really take the concept to the next level. We’re excited to be partners with Pepsi and NYC DOE in such an industry-leading initiative. We hope this project will be transformative for the students and the schools.”
