- The ease with which the MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900 can be customised. This, together with its auto float system, means that the changegiver will always have the right change available, while minimising the amount of cash stored in the machine.
- The way in which the MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900 helps vending operators to manage their businesses, in particular optimising cash flow.
- The reliability of the coin manager and the whole range of MEI products
MEI’s five tube changegiver includes a number of innovations that have made it very successful to date. Its unique qualities are partly due to the sonar technology which has not previously been used in a payment system. The MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900 sends a beam of sound down its five tubes and, on the basis of the time it takes for the sound wave to return, can calculate exactly how much change is in each tube.
The coin manager uses this information as part of its auto float facility. Onboard software monitors the coins being dropped and change dispensed. From this information it can ensure that there is always enough of the right change in each of the tubes, but never too much.
As well as ease of servicing, the MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900 also offers operators the opportunity to download audit information with ease. The popularity of this function has led to the development of the MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900i. This features IRDA (Infra-Red Data Audit) technology which allows audit data to be downloaded without making a physical contact to machine. Data is transmitted in EVA/DTS format making the coin manager compatible with any palm, audit or hand-held terminal which recognises this standard.
Richard Gibson, MEI’s European Marketing Director said: “By talking to operators across Europe we picked up on the frustration that physical audit connection was causing. Many customers reported printer connection breakages as one of the main causes of data loss. IRDA (Infra-red Data Audit) offers a much more robust solution, which in most cases speeds up data collection."
Also being shown for the first time at an Italian event is the MEI CASHFLOW™ 9510 coin acceptor. This is the ideal solution for situations where change is not required, for instance, where a coin acceptor is required alongside a cashless payment system.
Based on technology developed for the highly demanding gaming market, the MEI CASHFLOW™ 9510 offers MEI’s usual high standards of reliability alongside outstanding levels of acceptance and security. It operates from either 12 or 24 volts and is ideal for applications such as table-top coffee machines.
MEI will also showcase its CPM system which allows its changegivers and coin acceptors to be easily updated in the field.
Gigliola Corsi, MEI’s Regional Sales Manager for Italy says: “We are looking forward to meeting old and new customers at Vend Italia and showing them MEI’s outstanding product range, which gives Italian vending operators the tools they need to help them to run efficient and profitable businesses.”
