Coin Manager Enhancement Launched at EU Vend 2005

The MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900i is making its debut at this year’s EU Vend exhibition in Germany.

The CASHFLOW™ 7900i has been developed for operators who are moving into infra-red data retrieval and allows for the contactless collection of audit information. Data is transmitted in EVA/DTS format making the coin manager compatible with any palm, audit or hand-held terminal which recognises this standard.

Richard Gibson, MEI’s European Marketing Director said: “By talking to operators across Europe we picked up on the frustration that physical audit connection was causing. Many customers reported printer connection breakages as one of the main causes of data loss. IRDA (Infra-red Data Audit) offers a much more robust solution, which in most cases speeds up data collection.”

The CASHFLOW™ 7000 development was driven by the operator’s need  for better cash management, including real time audit. The IRDA option is a further enhancement designed to allow operators to take full advantage of the revolutionary benefits that this coin manager has to offer.

The unique sonar technology constantly monitors the number of coins in the tube in real time. Retrieving this information via IRDA or more traditional audit techniques gives operators full and accurate information on the actual value of coins in their machines for the first time. This eliminates discrepancies which previously arose when coins were manually added or removed from the tubes.

Already proving a success in Europe, the MEI CASHFLOW™ 7900i accounted for ten per cent of sales in France in June 2005.

Also making its German debut at the show is the MEI CASHFLOW™ 9510.
This machine is a high security acceptor for vending applications where no change is required and is typically fitted in combination with cashless systems. The MEI CASHFLOW™ 9510 operates in either 12 or 24 volts and is a better performing replacement for the MEI CASHFLOW™ 130.
